Privacy Notice

This notice describes how Hancock County Busted Mugshots handles information submitted while using the service. It covers searches, messages, routine technical information, cookies, and links to other services. It does not change the privacy practices of a government office or an outside website.

Information that may be collected

A search query entered in a search field is passed to the third-party provider that supplies that function. A message sent through a contact route may include the sender’s name, email address, and the content of the message. Standard technical information can also be collected automatically, such as browser type, device information, IP address, pages viewed, referral information, and approximate location derived from an IP address.

Cookies and similar technologies may be used to operate the service, remember preferences, measure use, and support advertising or analytics. Browser settings can often limit cookies, although some features may then work differently.

How information is used

Information may be used to operate the service, respond to an inquiry, improve reliability, understand traffic, prevent abuse, and show or measure advertising. Search information is handled by the third-party search provider under that provider’s own terms and privacy practices. Hancock County Busted Mugshots does not control an outside provider’s results, pricing, or retention choices.

Outside links and recipients

Links may lead to HCSO, county, court, MDOC, BOP, ICE, newsroom, and partner pages. Each external service has its own data practices. Information may be processed by search partners, hosting vendors, analytics services, advertising networks, and service providers that support this site. Information may also be disclosed when required by a valid legal order or to protect rights, safety, or security.

Security and younger users

Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet-connected service can promise perfect security. Do not send unnecessary sensitive material through a general contact channel. This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may request its deletion through Get in Touch.

Your choices and updates

You may ask about personal information held in connection with a message, request correction of inaccurate contact information, request deletion where applicable, or ask to opt out of certain processing. Requests may be limited by legal, security, operational, or recordkeeping needs. This notice may change as practices or laws change; a revised version takes effect when posted here.
